Jonny Sevin
- Jonny Sevin LP Art Attack AR007, 1981
Junior Achievement
- Fade To Black LP XSonic, 1983?
A mid-tempo hardcore band with some gothic leanings... something
like GBH-meets-45 Grave.[SG]
Killer Pussy Phoenix
- Teenage Enema Nurses In Bondage 7" Sho-Pink 40007/KP-1, 1982 PS
(Tomahawks / Dial-A-Teen // Pump-Rama / Teenage Enema Nurses In Bondage)

Amusing sex-obsessed novelty art punk with male and female vocals. Has kind
of a B-52s vibe.[JF]

- LP 1983
Usually described as "cowpunk", a friend compares it to Poison 13.[SG]
Pills
- DC10 / Pills / Hollywood Doll / Leavin' Town 7" Pill WW004, 1980
An ok powerpop/punk track (Hollywood Doll), another song that sounds
like a Ramones ballad thingie (sorta like Don't Come Close), a Bo
Diddley cover.[SG]
Red Squares Phoenix
- Modern Roll / Time Change 7" Nanxiety 001, 1981 PS
Decent poppunk. Fast and loud but the vocals are kinda problematic.
The other side is new wave.[BD]
The Spiffs
- Don't Waste Your Money On This Garbage 7" Industry Insulting II001, 1980 PS
(Here Comes Trouble / Kill You // Wink Tonight / Space Age Laser / Time To Go)
Pretty terrible, almost Cars-like power pop. The song titles sound pretty punk
but don't live up to the promise.[SG] Wink Tonight fits Steve's description but
the rest are ok lo-fi powerpop with a smidgen of attitude.[HW]
Stoned
- Phonebook Killer / Let's Nuke Phoenix 7" .44 Magnum, 1978 PS
Bass player Crash Helmet, less than enthused by being kicked out of
the band during a desert gig out by Pinnacle Peak tosses most of the
pressing into a bonfire, making this scarcer than the proverbial
hen's teeth. Reminiscent of the Hollywood Squares classic "Hillside
Strangler," it features great lyrics like "When it's time to go
a-stalking/I let my fingers do the walking/Pick a Jones, Smith
or Miller/Don't care 'cause I'm the Phonebook Killer."
Jack Hammer and Freddy Feedback went on to form the Legitimate
Gun Owners. Pic sleeve has a page from the phonebook
with gee-shuck car pimp Lou Grubb's digits circled. Somewhere between
200-250 exist. Jack's little sister was in the same Girl Scout
troop as Dinah Cancer!!![SG]
Teds Phoenix

(Jr. Chemists - Building A Fort / Spooky Cooties / Bizzy Worms //

Daughter / Victory Acres / Destruction / Tone Set / Precious Secrets /

KUPD radio station comp on the same label as the Red Squares 7". The Nervous
track is a decent synth-punker.[JF]

(Intro / Turn On U / Tomorrow / Nuthin 2 Say / Sum Body / I Want
You Back // Food / Blink 2wice / Dead Heat / Needjuh / U Rilly
Got Me / Machine Gun Love)
Fairly undistinguished live LP, a definite rush of excitement when
Machine Gun Love comes on, clearly their best song by far. Overall
it's ok.[HW]
Dr. Sadistic & The Silverking Crybabies Aspen
- Pyramid Punk LP Hospital 801-94, 1980
(Pre-Pubescent Punk / Teenage Wino / A Real Bad Case / I'm A Cliche /
Condo Bondage / Gucci Pucci Asshole / Blank Stare Baby / Train
Yourself To Like It / Mad At The World / Beat Me To A Pulp)
- Maroon Balls LP Hospital 81612, 1981
(The Crybabies Theme / Space Kitten / Gay Mountain Man / The "Won't
You Go Back To New Jersey" Polka / The Lower Half Of Your Love / All
Men Are Beasts // Dead Weight In the Hot Tub / Let's Eat The Cat /
Tits As Big As Texas / Est Holes On Parade / Sitting Ducks On The
Chairlift)
Musically awful (tepid wave), lyrically hilarious, it's way more Tubes
than Gizmos. It's kind of a concept album, the concept being not getting
laid by L.A. girls in Aspen for the snow. It weirds out on a few tracks
(courtesy of the keyboards), the highlight is A Real Bad Case about going
to a niteclub with herpes sores on your face.[HW]
Henry's comments above are for the 1st LP, but the same can be said for
the 2nd. The song titles really say it all.[JF]
Frantix Boulder
- Face Reality 7" Local Anesthetic LA003, 1982 PS

Leroy's Dance Band Littleton
- International / One-Oh-For 7" Pi-Fi 1-TAN-1/2-TAN-1, 1980 HS
International is new wave, but the second side is good guitar psych done in
the style of NNB's Slack. Some had silkscreened sleeves.[DR] The sleeve is
an oversized thin plastic bag with nothing more than a song title on each
side.[JF]

Rock Advocates Golden
- Electric Man / Waited Too Long 7" Simpletone, 1980
- Quest for Girls / Advocates Theme 7" Simpletone, 1981
RA were huge fans of the Jonny III when they were around, and their
music sounds roughly similar - 50s-style rocknroll with some 70s punk
awareness. Waited Too Long is a good power pop track. Advocates Theme
is Stray Cats rockabilly, Quest for Girls is good powerpop.
There is a third so-so 45 from 1985.[DR]

Was recorded in NYC, and according to an old invitation, the record
release party was July, 1982 in Bloomfield, NJ. A copy sold on eBay in
